I've been observing personal computing behavior for a long time, and now I have some things to say. Here are my two cents about computing, music, software, and related topics.

[...] Besides the issues I've already stated, the biggest argument against upgrading is that my software doesn't work as well on Lion or Mountain Lion as it does on Snow Leopard. For me, that's a big pain in the butt, and it doesn't let me enjoy the theming as fully. For reasons why this is an issue, see the recent brief article I wrote on the subject. [...]

Why is yours such a beautiful, beautifully-integrated website? Where everything works? Why should this be so rare? Interesting ... and appreciated.

I just wanted to drop by and thank you for all the wonderful work you have done with CCI. I have used it for the past 6 or 7 months on SL and Lion and I have been thoroughly impressed by the power and flexibility it offers.

I am not surprised that Apple is making it harder and harder to alter their software. It seems that we are being given a choice between conformity or security. I truly wish that we could have both. I read an essay by Neil Stephenson recently where he compares Operating Systems to vehicles. Windows is a cookie cutter family sedan, Linux is a modular tank and OS X is an exotic sports car. It seems that now I can't even choose how to decorate my vehicle of choice because I might mess up the precise aerodynamics and crash. I dont want to have drive a tank just to get around town and I certainly don't want to get a family sedan.

My point is this, I use a Mac because its built as one integrated piece of machinery. Unfortunately as this machine gets better engineered it also becomes more and more difficult to modify.

So excuse my rambling, I just wanted to thank you for helping me put on new rims and an one of those color changing coats of paint. I dont care what the engineers think, I turn heads everywhere I go.

Stay cool,
