another issue i sometimes have is that when certain applications are running, i have a big problem clicking on the menu buttons on the title bar. for instance if i’m running adium and try to click on the “adium” menu on the title bar to change my preferences…the titlebar immediately changes back to “Finder” and it’s nearly impossible to click on any of the application menu’s without restarting the application altogether. this happens on safari too a lot.

anyway, not to gripe…because all in all like i said previously i love the cci theme u did an awesome job

That said, if you’ll write me with your top 5 annoying issues with CCI 1.8.2, I’ll try to update that version, which still runs on Tiger. For example, I know that there’s a bug that causes the titlebar in some windows to appear white, which is more than kinda ugly. If you have that issue, let me know, as well as your other top ones, and I’ll see what I can do.

I’ve just posted an update that should take care of this problem. The update incorporates the GraphicsToggle utility I released last week. GraphicsToggle now gets run each time you run the CCI installer/uninstaller, and It will restore the regular Leopard graphics. The new CCI 1.9.1 download includes a ReadMe file for GraphicsToggle that provides additional information.

A lot of people seem to be having trouble, including myself and I wasn’t sure how to contact you. I liked the program, but now I’m having post-uninstallation issues with remnants of the program in my scroll bars.

help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I already tried deleting the pref file. Just now I tried creating a new user account, and the same things happen. See the link for a short clip of what is going on. First part shows that even though the CCI prefs are set to make windows of inactive apps 21% transparent, this doesn’t happen when switching between apps. Second part shows how the Crystal Menubar crashes immediately.

Re: SAM… yes, that’s one of the bugs in my implementation that I hope to fix in a future release. It’s why I continue to use LiteSwitch for SAM.

Also, others reading here may be interested in an explanatory post I made this morning at MacThemes.net:

I strongly encourage everyone who has tried CCI 1.9 to read the blog article describing it, or the documentation that comes with it. Many of its mysteries are revealed therein.

One that is not is the still–to me–mysterious relationship between Apple’s new CoreUI framework and some of those buttons there. An artifact of this mystery is the buttons in Finder, which I haven’t yet figured out how to solve. Personally, their ugliness doesn’t outweigh the beauty of the rest of the interface, so…

However, I didn’t release this assuming that others would feel the same. So here’s a secret you will not have discovered without a little exploring in the documentation or the CrystalClear Interface’s preferences window: To restore Finder’s Leopard-style buttons, go to the Extras tab and deselect “Use CrystalClear graphics… For all applications”

Note that you can still use CCI graphics in individual applications by using the second checkbox there. In fact, you’ll notice that toggling the second one on and off will take immediate effect, so you can see the differences. NOTE: The differences will only be fully obvious if you have chosen to install CCI’s system graphics during installation. Basically, this replaces the Extras.rsrc and Extras2.rsrc in the Carbon HiToolbox framework with CrystalClear alternatives. It backs up the system originals in a new ~/Library/Application Support/CrystalClear folder so it can restore them if you uninstall CCI.

ONE LAST IMPORTANT POINT: One thing I left undone was to turn the CoreUI graphics back ON if you uninstall CCI. BUT… there is an easy workaround. Before you uninstall, open CCI’s preferences and deselct “Use CrystalClear graphics… for all applications.” This way, when you uninstall, all will be as before, and CCI will be recalled only as if in a dream…

ONE MORE LAST NOTE: If you didn’t  install the CCI system graphics when installing CCI the first time, you can always run the installer again and select that option to install them later. You won’t get the full effect of the theme without those, but I wanted to make it user-optional.

First of all let me congrat you on this new version of CCI - it’s looking better and better each release!

However I have some problems:

1) I’m not sure if the Crystal Menubar i supposed to be working, but it seems to me that it is on the screenshot. When I activate the Crystal Menubar, it instantly crashes with a Reason: image not found. Any idea what could be causing this?

2) When switching applications, the active windows of all applications stay at full opacity regardless of preference settings, making it impossible to use transparent windowed apps such as System Preferences. I decided then to enable SAM until this issue could be fixed, but…

3) …holding shift to override and be able to have 2 apps visible at the same time doesn’t work. So unfortunately I’ve been forced to uninstall CCI and go back once again to Agua - which I too am sick and tired of by the way =)

Anyway… I’m sure these are only minor details, and you will be able to fix them faily easy. Thank you for the best theme out there!
