Merv, thanks for the tip about CoverScout... I'll give it a try! Yes, one of the things I really like about Art Collector is its simplicity, and that's probably OK for me personally, because my iTunes art needs are fairly simple. Most of my iTunes collection consists of old 45s I've digitized, and artwork isn't available for them anyway... I supply my own if I need it. :-)

Re: You Control Tunes... yes, I meant it doesn't help you find cover art from the web... it can certainly display it. (I thought I mentioned that, but I'll doublecheck.)
Cheers,
Leland

When you say that Art Collector is "simply the best tool for collecting and managing your album art collection I’ve yet seen," I wonder if that's because you have yet to see CoverScout. :-)

http://www.equinux.com/us/products/coverscout/index.html

Art Collector is elegant in its simplicity. But for a robust feature-set, as well as crisp design, CoverScout tramples all over Art Collector.

On another note, when you list "no album-art support" in the "cons" column for You Control Tunes, I assume you're referring to *finding* and *applying* art, not displaying it, right? Because its overlays do in fact display album art very, very nicely. (I'm pretty sure that's what you meant. But some readers may be confused by the wording.) :-)

Hey Richard,
No... I meant that before I started using Quicksilver I was just using a set of Applescripts, which I assigned to hot keys in iKey. I still use them out of force of habit, but you're right that I could just as easily assign triggers to the builit-in Quicksilver actions for the same result. In fact, Quicksilver already has triggers set up... I'd just need to set the hot keys to the ones my fingers know. :-)

Cheers,
Leland

Why use AppleScript with Quicksilver when it already has programmable triggers for pretty much any iTunes action?
