I've been observing personal computing behavior for a long time, and now I have some things to say. Here are my two cents about computing, music, software, and related topics.

Hi Stan,
Hmmm... as far as I know, you can't. However, the new iWeb ('08) has support for plugins and "flat" HTML, so it's theoretically possible for some enterprising developer to build an iWeb-powered e-Commerce site. Maybe they've already done so... I haven't looked around for it (yet).

Ok, I don't know much, but this is the best thing I've read about iWeb yet. There's one more thing I'm wondering. Can you do shopping cart functionality with iWeb or is it best to use Dreamweaver or another program?

Hi -- I like the term "visual HTML editing". So, NetObjects Fusion and iWeb can do it. What other apps have visual HTML design?

Hey Walt, I've never really warmed up to the Stone family of apps for some reason. The closest I've come is Imaginator, but just haven't been able to justify the cost. Create is the Stone tool that comes closest to doing HTML, I think, and I'll try that again soon. But the company website has language indicating they think Apples Pages is their competitor, but I don't think of Pages as an HTML tool (though it can write crappy HTML like most word processors can). So I'm not really sure what Create is, but I'll take a look.

David, Freeway does sound great, and maybe one of these days I'll get another demo license from them. Glad to know you like it!

I share the same love of iWeb, but not the same level of coding as you. Make that.... basic html is all I know. I read that "Learn HTML in 24 Hours" by Sams Publishing. With several hundred blog entries, it takes iWeb about 10 minutes to save and publish a simple one-character edit. I was surprised not to see you mention anything from Stone Studio? I haven't heard much about them. From an absolute beginner's POV, it seems a bit complicated.
