I've been observing personal computing behavior for a long time, and now I have some things to say. Here are my two cents about computing, music, software, and related topics.

Actually, that's a good suggestion... I should have tried it while testing the new app out. Unfortunately, though, it doesn't help. Google's user-agent-testing function is a bit more sophisticated than ones that can be fooled by the debug menu's "spoofing" tool. I got the same silly note when trying to load the site with Safari masquerading as IE 6.0, Mozilla 1.1, and Netscape 7.0.

And you know, that's a good thing for Google. Cause if Safari could get in merely by pretending to be another browser, that would mean there's no good technical reason for blocking Safari to begin with! And that would make Google look even more nasty than it already does. Like many Mac users, I've tried to give Google the benefit of the doubt over the last couple of years, but I'm now tired of their anti-Safari attitude.

Also, if Google has really shut access to the Page Creator, let me make clear to anyone who can't get in using ANY browser: Page Creator is not a downloadable application. It's a Web 2.0-style, rich Ajax/DHTML web application using the same basic technology as Apple's Dashboard Widgets.

turn on debugging in Safari, then in the debugging menu choose "Open page with...." and select another browser.

This is an amazingly fast and slick way to "test" or "try" pages in another browser. Simple.

1. Download Onyx (http://macupdate.com/info.php/id/11582)
2. Quit Safari
3. Oynx->Appearance->Safari (tab)
4. ? enable Safari debugging
5. Apply
